Artists Open House
Work from Mohamad Bassyouni ‘Pop Art Exodus’, exploring modern life in Palestine, is featuring at our Open House in this May’s Festival.
The very talented Tentmakers of Cairo have new applique pieces on their way. The largest is approximately 3m x 2m. Originally used to beautify tents, this art form dates back to the time of the Pharoahs. Handstitched my men, designs now have a modern twist, which has helped the artisans adapt to and flourish in the global market. Their work sells in galleries worldwide.
Kenyan paintings from three artists from the Kisii district in Western Kenya; Indian paintings from the lovely Silence; quilts by Purkal; embroidery by Michelle Thomasson; pastels by Philip David; cards, prints, etc. For your delectation and delight!
Our Artists Open House is at the Lovethatstuff Fair Trade Shop, 8 The Boardwalk, First Floor, Brighton Marina BN2 5WA. We’re open from Thursday to Sunday 11am to 5pm.
