Are you looking to develop your career in an innovative and vibrant enterprise-focused academic community?
At Brighton, we embrace individuality and encourage our students and staff to explore their passions and their curiosity. Brighton Business School advances responsible enterprise that makes a real difference and we are proud that REF 2014 judged our Business and Management research to be the 5th most impactful within the UK. We have an ambitious strategy to gain AACSB accreditation.
As part of that strategy we seek to appoint a lecturer who can contribute to teaching Accounting on our different degree programmes, principally our Accounting & Finance undergraduate programme. We have a suite of accounting, finance, investment and business degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level which includes substantial elements of accounting including a range of accounting electives.
We are looking for candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and an innovative approach to delivering the curriculum. Ideally you will have experience of higher education but applications from candidates with a recognised Accountancy qualification and those from a professional/commercial background seeking to move to a career in education would also be welcomed. In particular we are interested in candidates with experience in financial accounting and reporting. Experience of, and the ability to teach any of business ethics and corporate governance, taxation and audit would also be welcomed.
In the role continuing academic development is expected as a means of keeping up to date with developments in those areas reflecting the changes in the business landscape and environment. We encourage staff who are research active or who wish to develop in that area.
Interviews will be held on 28 or 31 May 2019.
Closing Date: 13 May 2019
