Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy (0.6 full-time equivalent) (HC3204-19-285)
This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team of academics dedicated to the learning and teaching of occupational therapists on our BSc, Degree Apprenticeship, and MSc Pre-Registration programmes where you will provide a stimulating learning experience, motivating and inspiring students to become critical thinkers and high-quality professionals.
Our courses are focused on preparing students with knowledge, skills, innovation and vision for advanced careers in contemporary health care services. We are looking to recruit a lecturer or senior lecturer (dependent on experience) with up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in occupational therapy including current clinical, professional and policy developments. You will take an active part in teaching and supporting students in both theory and practice. A fundamental part of the role is collaborating with colleagues across the School with interests in advanced practice to develop research opportunities.
You should be an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with a postgraduate qualification who also has experience in clinical supervision. You will ideally have a Higher Education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months. An understanding of principles of learning and teaching in higher education, in particular problem-based learning, would be desirable. Clinical experience in a physical health or social care setting is desirable. You should be able to contribute to core areas of the occupational therapy curriculum in a research informed manner.
If you have a Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers.
Travel to other university sites will also be required. Job sharers welcome.
