Things change all the time. Are you one of those people who, once they’ve made their mind up, there’s no budging? Or are you prepared to look at the other side of things and change your opinion? There’s a lot of that sort of thing going on in the world news. It’s always good to put yourself in the position of others, change attitudes for the better and understand positive ways to move forward…

We start this week’s column at a club happening… Interzone vs Death & Leisure at Grow Tottenham, Ashley House on Thursday 5th September, ‘an experimental assembly of sonics and cinema and community’. Affiliated with the KAOS club, it’s a collab with label Death & Leisure who present a DJ set from club Broken English. Also KAOS residents Dahc Dermur VIII, Lupus, Kujo and unn over various rooms.  Starts at 7pm, ends at 4am. Expect your horizons to be broadened!

On other horizons, join RODENT who hosts Sissy Scvm Salon at The Karoake Hole this Thursday 5th September at 7pm with a soiree of Scvm Queens reading and performing spoken word of all sorts. At 10pm RODENT then launches into his avant-garde I’M NOT OKhole karaoke night on ‘til the small hours.

It seems Thursdays are the evening to engage with artists of all kinds, Bishi’s AV Show Launch ‘Let My Country Awake’ introduces a new electronic classical album from Bishi and it’s on at the Rich Mix on the 5th September. A conceptual electronic masterpiece addressing and exploring themes around ‘immigrant identity’ with visual from Output Arts. On from 7:30pm ‘til 11pm. #bishiAV19

Showtime never stops at The Glory… All About That Bassey: A night clebrating Dame Shirley Bassey on Friday Sept 6th. If like me you can never get enough of Dame Shirley then this show is for you! Join Cazeleon who will singing live and paying homage to ‘The Girl From Tiger Bay’ on to spectacular hits the Bassey has given us with special guests Richard Hadfield and Cynthia Seaward! 7:30pm ‘til 10.30pm at theglory.co   

On Dalston Superstore news there’s Fast & Bi-Furious on Friday 6th… is this you? Not a lot of info here but there’s DJ action from Rachael Williams and a host of East London’s finest playing tuneage ‘til 3am! Then Homodrop is back at Dalston Superstore this weekend with a sensational DJ line up! Kit Ket from Lisbon and and Mixed Forms from San Francisco plus Cheriii, Marie Malarie and Ornyography on Saturday 7th September. From 9pm get hot and sweaty ‘til 4am.

More Saturday night news at Debbie does Eagle ‘Back to school’ Party on 7th September at the Eagle of course over in Vauxhall! Fun night with guest performers and drag hosts Cassandra and Jules Jones who celebrates a birthday! DJ’s Sina Sparrow and Xander Bernhard ‘til 4am.

One of our favourite nights ever! Mariah & Friendz at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club… Join the cremé de la cremé of drag talents who indulge us in all things fun on Saturday 7th September from 9pm. Baby Lame, Lick Von Dyke, Care Melle, Bolly Illusion and Petite Lamé plus circus artist Lee Keenor!

Up at Papa Loko: Soul Connector with DJs Othon, Tominascious, TiGo, Wandson Maxx and The Blonde Spirit on Sunday September 8th at The Cause it’s time to celebrate with a day rave from 12pm ‘til 10pm! These lot are so passionate about their gatherings and in this case connect ‘to the Soul Connector frequency that plugs into the quantum field of pure and infinite awareness’.

Finally! So thrilled to have Lavinia Co Op with me at my soirée Princess Julia Loves… on Sunday 8th September at The Glory this week! The major leg-end-diary Lavinia is performing some of their archive material, this is not to be missed! 7pm to 11pm.
